Music Programs

Mt. Horeb continues to grow in its music ministry. All are invited to participate as we continue to share our gifts with God and each other. Find a group that interests you and join us as we make a joyful noise to the Lord!

The Chancel Choir participates in worship during the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service. In addition to weekly anthems, this choir sings cantatas and prepares special music for Christmas, Lent, Reformation and Easter. Practice is each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Joyful Noise Choir leads the congregation in song during the 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship service. In addition to weekly anthems, members sing cantatas and prepare special music for Christmas, Lent, Reformation and Easter. Practice is each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Children Choirs
Mt. Horeb has two children’s choirs that meet on Sunday afternoons from 4:30 to 6 pm. For practice. They sing several times throughout the year, including the Christmas program and others.

Visitation Choir
This unique choir visits and sings familiar hymns and shares Bible readings with our homebound members. Members prepare a small gift or special treat of food, and enjoys fellowship with our members during these visits. The Visitation Choir practices on the third Thursday of the month.

Handbell Choirs
Mt. Horeb now has two hand bell choirs which meet for practice Sundays and Mondays. Combined, we have about 15 ringers, and always welcome newcomers! The hand bell choirs play several times throughout the year, including during Christmas Eve services.

Praise Band
On the first and third Sundays of each month, Mt. Horeb’s praise band plays immediately before the 8:30 a.m. service. This band is made up of members who find joy in sharing their talents through playing instruments and singing contemporary music. This group practices twice a month on Sunday evenings.
