Women Of The ELCA

WELCA’s stated purpose is “as a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings,
engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world.” Mt. Horeb has a very active WELCA group and we invite you to join us!

These “circles” are active expressions of WELCA at Mt. Horeb...

Miriam Circle
The Miriam Circle meets the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. either at church or at the home of a hostess. The group works together to serve our church family and community and assist each other in time of need. In addition to discussing service projects and other business, the members look forward to a Bible study each month. After each meeting, they enjoy lunch together. Most members are age 50 and up, but we welcome members of any age.

Agape
Christ-like love is the foundation of this circle, and members support each other as sisters in Christ. This circle’s membership is diverse, with ladies ranging in age from their early 30s to mid-50s. The Agape Circle meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m., either at church or at someone’s home. We are very casual at our meetings, so, please, come and join us… just as you are.

Friendship
The Friendship circle is an informal, closely-knit group of women bonded together to assist others and learn of God’s word through prayer, study and service. With hands and our hearts they gladly minister to each other, serve the needs of Mt. Horeb’s congregation, and work to care for the community and the world. We invite you to join the fun! We meet the second Monday of each month at 10 a.m.

Dorcas Circle

Dorcas is a warm, loving and caring group of ladies, supporting each other and offering our services to the community when the need arises. With God as the center, the circle worships, shares and enjoys fun-spirited experiences, and welcomes new members as well as visitors! Join us the first Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m.

Circle of Joy
This is a group of “instant” friends who work together to share God’s love by serving our church family and the community. Enjoying each other’s company is the goal and laughing is a must! Time together is spent in devotion, personal sharing and service projects. The Circle of Joy meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the conference room. Please join us and bring your sense of humor!

Ruth/Naomi
This unique circle is a group of mothers and daughters growing together in their relationship with God. All mothers and daughters of Mt. Horeb, and guests too, are invited to meet with this group on the third Sunday each month at 3 p.m.
